YUMCHA 'A little bit of everything' and SSAFE (Same Sex Attracted Friendly Environments)
The SSAFE project provides information, training, support and resources to students and staff at local schools to assist schools to be positive environments for GLBTIQ students.
YUMCHA meet on Mondays 4 pm @ Brophy CYC providing a safe, friendly and secure environment. Our main aim is to challenge homophobic attitudes in our region
Achievements in 2013:
Safe & Welcome Place Project: This project supplies decals to be displayed in businesses and organisations who commit to providing a safe and welcome place for all.
#DIY Rainbow Crossings: This project was in support of the Rainbow Crossing in CBD Sydney which was created for Mardi gras. The Sydney City Council ripped up the crossing which caused much public disappointment. This soon developed into a worldwide media campaign in which #DIY Rainbow Crossings were created anywhere and everywhere in support. Warrnambool youth also created #DIY rainbows locally
